The Walt Disney Classics Collection (WDCC), premiered in 1992. The Collection is the first time that the Disney Company has produced their own line of Disney figurines.

The Disney team spent three years in research to study the old classics characters and decide the best pose and method to sculpt them. Disney carefully designed each figurine so that the final sculpture looks like the original character in the movie.

Each sculpture bears a backstamp with Walt Disney's signature and an incised or decal production-year mark that symbolizes a milestone in Disney history. Sculptures may carry different production marks if series production continues over several years.

Sculptures are released as a Limited Edition or an Open Edition. A Limited Edition can be either a Time Limited (released for a specific time period/year) and/or Numbered. These have been released through Special Events, Conventions (Disneyana and Walt Disney Art Classics) and/or New Product Announcements.

Open Editions are met with subsequent "retirement". These retired sculptures can never be reproduced as the plaster molds are destroyed on the day of retirement. Once retired, these figurines can only be found on the Secondary Market. The "secondary market” refers to the resale market.

In January 1993, Disney introduced the Walt Disney Collectors Society. Jiminy Cricket was the Charter member gift sculpture and named the 'mascot' of the Walt Disney Collectors Society.

Each year, the WDCS announces its member gift sculpture for those collectors who join and/or renew. Other Members-Only offering are available throughout the membership year and can be ordered through special redemption certificates mailed to all active Society members by the Walt Disney Collectors Society.

The figurines on our website that are listed for sale are actually in our gallery and are available. Contact us if you do not see the figurine that you are looking for. We will be happy to order it for you or try to locate one for you. Unless noted, all are in perfect condition with their boxes and certificate of authenticity (unless Disney did not issue one for that particular figurine).
