She paints with oils, and taught art at Washington and Jefferson College, and elementary and high schools. Dobbin paints in impressionistic style, using heavy impasto applied with the palate knife. She refined her classical skills studying with contemporary masters. Her work is influenced by artist Eugene Delacroix’s expressive brush strokes conveying emotion and character. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Dobbin says, “For me there is an inherent need to paint; to create. It’s existed since childhood.
