Keirce-Blanket Flowers

Debra Keirce

Blanket Flowers is an original oil painting by  Debra Keirce.  The art measures 12″ x 12″ with the  frame measuring  13 1/2″ x  13 1/2″,  frame included.

From the artist......Gaillardia are native to the northern and western parts of North America. Because they have adapted to sandy soil and they are tolerant of drought and direct sun, they have blanketed much of Texas and the beaches of The Outer Banks. It is said that a man named Joe Bell brought the first seeds with him when he moved to Ocracoke in the 1920’s from California. Here in OBX they are nicknamed Joe Bell flowers.
