He changed art more profoundly than any other artist of his time. \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e 1901 to 1904 were known as the “blue period” because of the blue tonality of his paintings. 1905 to 1906, was his “rose period” when he painted acrobats, clowns and the circus world in subtle pinks and grays. He pioneered Cubism, and created his art with a pace and vitality comparable to the accelerated technological and cultural changes of the time. Each change embodied a radical new idea. \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e Picasso painted his pivotal painting, “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon,” and met Georges Braque, the other leading figure of the Cubist movement. During World War II, he painted his great anti-war painting, “Guernica.” Then turned his energy to the art of ceramics.
