There’s a bird in a zoo in Oklahoma City. He’s not originally from there, but he’s there now. He’s curious and rightly so. Why should anybody take time out of their day to watch him sit on a branch? He stares back and probably assumes that all we humans do all day, every day, is look into one habitat after another. What an odd activity for a species. Little does he know that the reason I was looking at him is how bright and beautiful his feathers are. He’s obviously from someplace much greener and more colorful. Here he’s a rare bird indeed. Aren’t we all?
