Morgan Dennis, 1892 – 1960. Morgan was an American author and illustrator known for his paintings of dogs. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up on Long Island, New York.
Dennis was an etcher, illustrator, writer and lecturer. His dog illustrations appeared in many well-known magazines and books. He was particularly well known for his depictions of Scotties. Dennis drew the original illustrations for the Black and White Scotch ads. They were of Scotty dogs, of course.
