People have the remarkable capability to create, and in that precious gift called creativity is where great stories are born. Some of those tales are woven through the tapestry of an artist’s brush and imagination. Debra loves to share such stories through the power of art. These pieces are just five of many that we love as Seaside Art Gallery. Take a look and let your whimsy and wonder soar!
1. Big Yawn, Charcoal with Interactive Frame

Even the great king of the jungle needs to yawn sometimes! This playful piece combines the feel of a smooth textured gargoyle with the resemblance of a regal lion as he awakes from his slumber. The louvre fronted frame adds a hilarious whimsical touch that further heightens the curious narrative in the piece.
2. Floral One, Oil Painting with Interactive Frame
Not sure what kind of art to give to a friend for a gift? It’s never a bad idea to find a piece with gorgeous flowers! This colorful miniature piece was painted under a magnifying lense, allowing the viewer to take a closer look and see even more details from the palm of their hand. What story comes to your mind when you unwind to stop and smell the roses?
3. Overlooking, Oil Painting With Interactive Frame
This painting in contrast invites the viewer to imagine what’s on the horizon afar. The lush greenery suggests somewhere in the Appalachian mountain range, but the artist encourages you to use your imagination as it could be anywhere. It’s like a make-your-own story! The piece can be placed into a separate frame, allowing you to enjoy seeing it with multiple options and angles.
4. Under the Sun, Oil Painting
This classic still life of a vase filled with late stage sunflowers is the embodiment of October. It’s rich color palette hearkens the golden colors of an autumn landscape. Like the tree leaves, so too do the sunflowers eventually wither and perish. But there is something beautiful about the ruggedness of aging gracefully. Debra invites the viewer to ponder this in the uniqueness of her favorite flower.
5. You Are the Song, Oil Painting
This lively work of art celebrates the song of all kinds of people across time. Here, the artist imagines how a person might appear as a song. Who are the songs that sing to you in your life? Who listens to your deepest thoughts and holds you close? Who roots for you in your corner? This piece is for them.
