Artist Note:
There is something about a field of wildflowers that draws me in every time. Miniature art is like that. And this piece, another in my hidden painting series, is a painting inside a box. It invites you to pick it up in your palm, open the door, and lean in for a closer look. I painted it under a lighted magnifier, so if you pick up a magnifying lens you can view it the way I saw it as I painted it.
I strive to offer more ways for people to interact with my art. My inspiration is the art of the golden age in the 17th century, when art was often behind curtains or inside cupboards. You had to be deliberate and interactive in order to view it.
