Up for sale is a really nice original acrylic painting by Virginia listed artist, William A. Youngblood. The art measures 28″ x 22″ and the rustic wood frame is 29″ x 23″. Both art and frame are in very good condition. Signed and dated '72 in the lower right corner by the artist.

Biography:
William A. Youngblood was born in 1915 at Sweetwater, Tennessee. After serving as a nature artist and architectural draftsman for the National Park Service, he became art director at several ad agencies and corporations.
Largely self-taught, Youngblood worked in art-related fields in Richmond for most of his life. He retired in 1972, built a home with studio in the county and was able to make a living as a full-time artist.
While he enjoyed other mediums, watercolors were always his favorite. The subjects of his work also covered a wide spectrum, including old buildings, barns, landscapes, historic homes and some people and animals, many of the subjects were found in the Powhatan VA area. His style of realism and vanishing America is quite popular.
He participated five times in the invitational exhibit "Top 10 Realists of the Southeastern U.S." at the Gallery of Contemporary Art in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
He also was a signature member of the Georgia and Virginia Watercolor Societies and the Honor Society of Watercolor, USA and a charter member of the James River Art League. William A Youngblood is a listed artist. Youngblood lived in Powhatan County for 37 years when he died in 2009 at age 93. William A. Youngblood is a listed Southern VA artist on AskArt.
