The entire time I was painting this girl, I thought she was a rooster.  Her posture, plumes, and beautiful colors fooled me.  I saw her in the backyard of one of my favorite places in the OBX…Seagreen Gallery.  I wanted to call attention to her unique beauty, so I placed her in a background of shiny gold tones. 

 The process of putting metal leaf on sanded paper is quite time-consuming and sometimes tedious.  But I like the end result.
