Cook-Fishing Rights

Jean Cook

$275.00

Fishing Rights is an oil painting by Jean Cook (Kansas). The art measures 3 3/4" x  5 1/2" and the frame is 5 1/4" x 7 1/4".

Totally! Here's a more relaxed, casual version—like the artist’s just telling a story to a friend:

This was at Brooks Falls in Alaska. Every bear has their own favorite fishing spot, and their own style, too. The “Diver” who liked to sit below the falls and actually dive underwater to catch fish. Then you had others at the top, waiting for the salmon to basically jump right into their mouths.

I was there in the mid-90s. It was fun but also a little scary. I had to walk about half a mile to get to the falls, usually just with the friend I came with. So you’re really out there, in their world. Sometimes there were rangers around, especially if things got dangerous, such as when a mama bear and her cubs were nearby.

Let me know if you want it to sound even more off-the-cuff, or if you're thinking of using it for something like a social media caption or a video voiceover.
