This is an original miniature oil painting by Colorado artist, B J Lawson. "Amish Scene” is a beautiful miniature painting with horse and Amish buggy. The art measures 3″ x 4 1/2″ and the modern wood frame is 5 1/4″ x 6 1/4″”. 

Artist bio:
B.J. Lawson was born in New England and lived along the coast of Maine and Massachusetts. This love of New England is portrayed in her paintings of scenes along the East Coast. Her work is mainly in oils, the subject matter being extremely wide, ranging from portraits, landscapes and wildlife, to primitives and miniature paintings. She works in all sizes, from large canvases, down to postage stamp size paintings.
“If a person can love his work, that describes me. Drawing and painting are an obsession with me and if a day goes by without painting, I feel like I have missed something! To see things through an artists’ eyes is such a privilege.”
Her formal art training began at Lowell Technical Institute and different media classes at the famous James Whistler House. While residing in San Francisco, she studied under well known artist, including Thomas Leighton, a world-renowned artist and teacher.
She has traveled extensively and applies much of her visual experiences to paintings that depict scenes from all over the world.
She is in National and International juried shows throughout the world and has won numerous awards. Her works can be found in private collections and businesses in United States, Europe, Canada and Australia. B. J. Lawson passed in 2008.
