I lived in an old grist mill converted to a residence from 2008-2015. The dam with the waterfall and sluice for the water to come through to power the turbines were directly behind the back, and often after storms, huge logs would drift from upstream and get stuck against the dam. This offered an excellent vantage point for this male kingfisher to look for a meal.
