Evie was born, raised and educated in Pittsburgh, she has resided in the Bear Rocks area for 30 years. She holds a degree in Art Education from Carnegie Mellon University (Carnegie Tech). Following raising a family of nine she returned to painting finding her niche in miniatures, that is 5” x 7” maximum size. Tools of her trade are brushes with less than 10 hairs and a magnifying glass, her preferred medium is opaque watercolor or oil. She is a member of the Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers of Washington D.C., the Miniature Art Society of Florida and in 1998 was elected a signature member of the Miniature Artists of America. She has shown her work all over the United States, Canada and Tasmania and won numerous awards. Recently, the newly formed World Federation of Miniaturists requested logo designs and Evies drawing was selected as the winner. A member and long time board member of the Greensburg Art Club, Evie paints and exhibits larger works locally.
