From the Dismal Swamp (it's a real place) down to South Carolina, there are brackish waters that kiss land masses bordering the Atlantic Ocean. They offer a respite from the powerful surf, and the most intense sunsets. The wildlife is a bit different, and the air isn't quite as salty tasting. It's not far from the fury of the sea, and yet it's a world away.
It's in this in between world that I often find the most peaceful moments.
