There’s nothing like taking a moment to stop and admire the earth’s beautiful wild animals. Thanks to remarkable realistic art, you can admire the more dangerous ones up close. Check out these watercolor paintings of stunning wolves and wild cats that are sure to dress up every room in natural splendor.
Next to the lion, the tiger is one of the first animals in mind when it comes to royalty in the animal kingdom, and this painting is the perfect example. The tiger’s luscious stripes and fitting pose make it look like a royal commision!
Catch a rare moment with a timber wolf keeping a watchful eye as it relaxes. Timber wolves are thought to be a subspecies of gray wolves. They live in packs of two to twelve. Isn’t it amazing how much this wolf looks like a dog lying in the brush?
You probably wouldn’t have long to live if you admired the majesty of a real lion hunting like this up close. But thanks to the striking super-realistic strokes in this fascinating painting, you’ll be quite safe! Disclaimer: no artists were harmed in the making of this artwork.
Have you ever seen a black wolf? Its ebony fur is a sight to behold. Black wolves are a color mutation that appear in gray wolves and red wolves. Fun fact: the black wolf gene may be closer to genes of early domesticated dogs than other wolves.
It’s amazing how every powerful, wild cougar’s life begins as a tiny cub. Born blind, deaf, and helpless, these adorable kittens live and play with each other in the safety of their mother’s den. Their “baby spots” help them hide from predators and eventually fade away as they grow old enough to hunt with mom.
Between the softness and the wet ripples, we’re simply stunned by the sheer accuracy of this white wolf standing in the water. Did you know that wolves are excellent swimmers? They love to swim but they do feel more vulnerable, so make sure to admire them from a distance!
Wow! The amazing snow leopard is dressed to survive in style. Its stunning spotted coat is actually the best camouflage for its rocky environment, far away in the snowy mountains of Central Asia. Snow leopards are endangered, but they’re so good at hiding, no one knows exactly how many of them are for sure.
Last but not least, this beautiful wolf sends us off with an epic farewell as it ventures out of the woods. We can’t get enough of the sunlight highlighting the rich browns and grays from the wolf’s coat, as well as its soft yellow eye.
Craving for more wildlife art? You don’t have to hunt for it. Gaze upon even more beautiful wild predators in The Secret Lives of Wildlife, an exhibit featuring the Latham family. This special show is available online at Seaside Art Gallery.
