This lovely etching commemorates the Chicamacomico Lifesaving Station, an important piece of the U.S. Coast Guard’s history, and it’s right here in the Outer Banks. This award winning station operated for 80 years from 1874 - 1954 and saved hundreds of lives. The piece showcases every inch of the grounds in accurate detail, from the weathered boards to the roof trim and even the water cistern.
