Tired of cold and gloomy weather? (Spoiler alert: we are, too!) Whether you are near or far from the Outer Banks right now, original art has gorgeous scenery any time of year. Sit back and enjoy some of our favorite beach paintings at Seaside Art Gallery. They’re sure to put a sunny smile on your face.

The Outer Banks is iconic for its clear skies and sunshine on its shores, but a misty day at the beach is beautiful, too. This gallery wrapped oil painting captures the characteristics of a typical Outer Banks beach day in the springtime or after a quick temperature swing. There is never a dull moment on an Outer Banks beach!

We love how this oil painting is nowhere near your typical beach scene! Two waterbirds enjoy each other’s company in the glistening shoreline. Even on a cloudy day, the water boasts a remarkable deep blue that is the perfect contrast to the neutral sandy backdrop. The piece ensures that the attention returns to the birds, however, as the focus is crystal clear in the foreground. What could they be talking about? It’s up to the viewer’s imagination!

It’s almost unfair how the oceanside Outer Banks get so much attention. After all, there are soundside beaches, too! Every single sunset happens on the sound, as well as crabbing and so many water sports activities. If you’re looking for something different, check out the beautiful soundside marsh in this oil painting.

Phew! All this beach viewing sure is hard work. Time to sit down and take a break. Hey look, why not sit in this convenient yellow chair? Oh wait…it’s not real, it’s a watercolor painting! Wow, this beach painting is so peaceful, it’s a must to sit down and admire it. Whew. What a life.

Surprise! Who knew that the beach is beautiful in the wintertime, too? While Outer Banks summers are bright, bold, and energetic, a clear winter beach day is soft and light. This pastel painting is an accurate depiction of a sunny Outer Banks day in December. Just remember to bundle up if you’re planning to come to the beach in the wintertime. The wind sometimes feels like Jack Frost!
No matter what the weather’s doing, you can always count on original art to cheer you up. There are plenty more beach scenes at Seaside Art Gallery! See more beach art right here, or take a little self-care break and stop in at the Gallery to see them yourself.
