It’s challenging to keep up with every name on your holiday gift list, let alone satisfy Uncle Edward’s peculiar tastes. Luckily, there are plenty of beautiful treasures at Seaside Art Gallery to bring joy and make memories. Few things bring that joy like a gorgeous beach themed gift from the Outer Banks! We’ll share with you some of our favorites below:
Not many Outer Banks paintings focus on the soundside, but there are just as many beautiful sights there as the oceanside! We love how the deep indigo clouds contrast against the light warm sands. The horizon is accurately portrayed with a strip of land in the distance that’s likely the mainland North Carolina coast.

This remarkable sepia tone etching captures the weight of the approaching storm clouds in the ominous sky. These passionate sailors don’t seem to mind, though. They venture forth into the water once more, hoping they can squeeze another ride before the sky falls in sheets of rain!
Feel the soft feathers of a graceful waterfowl where the sky is blue in this soft-stroked relaxing painting. This appealing piece is suitable for almost any bird lover in your circle. Its convenient 8 ½” x 6 ½” size is ideal for many types of wall and shelf spaces for delightful viewing.
Isn’t she beautiful? This stunning schooner with red sails is sure to give any sailor goosebumps at first sight. It’s sized less than five inches wide with the frame, making this piece high quality miniature art that’s just as treasured as any rare ruby to behold in a little Christmas gift box.
A perfect gift for a passionate fisherman, this sculpture was made by a local Outer Banks artist with an Italian woodcrafting technique called Intarsia inlay. There’s no other piece like it in the world because each Intarsia wood sculpture is unique. They’ll never guess what they’re about to see under the tree!
Sometimes you need to clear your head with “negative space,” or the space where there is an absence of “stuff” to look at. This watercolor is a prime example of negative space in a natural maritime environment. Only the ocean waters are present with little more than a wave beginning to crest at its center. Its soothing cool tones make it appealing for the deep thinkers in your life.

If you've ever turned over a piece of jewelry and noticed a tiny stamp reading 925, you may have wondered what it means. Is it real silver? Is it valuable? And what's the difference between sterling, coin silver, and pure silver?
