About The Artist

Artist Alice Ann DobbinAlice Ann Dobbin, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She paints with oils, and taught art at Washington and Jefferson College, and elementary and high schools. Dobbin paints in impressionistic style, using heavy impasto applied with the palate knife. She refined her classical skills studying with contemporary masters. Her work is influenced by artist Eugene Delacroix’s expressive brush strokes conveying emotion and character.

Dobbin says, “For me there is an inherent need to paint; to create. It’s existed since childhood. The love of nature inspires me to share my vision and passion on canvas.” Her works are held in private collections, including a former U.S. President, and in public collections in the southeast U.S. Her memberships: Oil Painters of America, American Impressionistic Society, Women Painters of the Southeast.
