Hebe Lee Wiseman, born 1946. She learned the art of china painting from her mother Margaret Surber, a master china painter, and worked in watercolor and oils. Wiseman taught china painting classes for twenty years. She worked for world-renowned artist, P. Buckley Moss and developed an interest in graphic arts and pursued a career as a computer graphics specialist. Wiseman eventually returned to her love of china painting and the world of miniature art. She paints with great detail using a magnifying glass to render the finest of strokes. Many of her paintings come from photographs taken while exploring the beautiful countryside, and her own backyard. Wiseman is the mother of three and grandmother of four. She resides in Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia.
