Janet Groom Pierce, born 1938. She was raised in the Tidewater area in Virginia and resides in Southern Shores, North Carolina. She paints impressionistic paintings with watercolors and acrylics. “Painting in itself is exciting, yet relaxing for me, especially painting on location. I love lush color and bold lighting with unusual viewing or vantage points. Hopefully, I convey my love for what I have painted,” says Pierce.
Pierce learned from excellent artists such as Jack Clifton, Barclay Sheaks, Tom Water and Ralph Smith. Her paintings have been selected for juried shows and won many awards. While in Virginia, she was a signature member of the Virginia Watercolor Society.
