Michelle Pattee lives in Colorado, and was raised in a family of artists. Her medium of choice is Scratchboard - a board-base, layered with white clay, then coated with India ink. Working in this medium is incredibly difficult. One mistake might completely change, or even ruin, a project.
“When I begin creating a piece, as it emerges, some creature will demand to come through and form on the board before me, saying, 'Hello!' I try to step aside and allow for this spontaneity. Having that relationship with the art, makes every piece personal and special,” says Patee. Her award-winning art work is in private collections in the United States and the UK. She’s a member of the Glenwood Springs Art Guild, Western Colorado Center for the Arts, and Association of Miniature Artists.
