Since ancient times the presence of animals has helped us find hope, meaning, and good company. Domestic animals have been by our side as loyal companions for millennia. Did you know that ancient Greeks and Romans wrote touching epitaphs for their pet dogs? Much like these epitaphs, this lovely original artwork celebrates the legacy of, well… adorable animals! Get the tissues ready.

The power of a cute ginger kitten’s gaze is nothing to be messed with, especially when it looks at you while playing with a ball of yarn. Its sweet innocence is even cuter when captured in miniature art size! The green grassy background provides a pleasant contrast to frame the irresistible focal point.
This graceful slice of life scene at a French beachfront captures the innocent wide button eyes of a Jack Russell pup. The pastel medium does a great job replicating the warm glow of the afternoon Mediterranean sunshine off the nearby water. Its classy palette is a tasteful choice for the animal lover’s home or office.
We don’t know anyone who can possibly resist the serenity of a fluffy sleeping kitten on the plush couch. The strokes of this dreamy miniature scene are so soft, you might mistake the paint for fur. Is she dreaming of tuna fish buffets, or perhaps endless cuddles from her owner? It’s up to the viewer’s imagination.
“Is it spring yet?” We can totally relate to the look on this fluffy wild rabbit’s face as he peeks out of his den to check the weather. Unfortunately, it’s still snow season for him. The good news is that he can continue his cuteness sleep so he can look even fluffier the next time.
Don’t you love the wonder and simplicity of a dog’s perspective? Dogs don’t care about the world’s daily crisis. They have more important things to think about, like how round and red this holiday ornament is! Maybe this pup sees his reflection in it, or perhaps he’s thinking about plucking it off the tree for some fetch. The only care we have is if the ornament is shatter proof.
Despite their independent nature, cats have the uncanny ability to sense when their humans need comfort. This lovely gouache piece of a tabby is a tribute to feline comfort and care. Its rich framed colors are akin to the lovely illustrations of medieval manuscripts.

One of the best qualities about still life art is that it encourages the viewer to enjoy the moment. The piece sets the mood and invites you to walk right up and have a front-row seat into the scene.
