Today’s technology-driven world often feels like a roller coaster. Thankfully, there is plenty of opportunity still when we can hit the pause button. This little collection of gorgeous wildlife art brings a refreshing take on the typical “slice of life” art genre. No need to keep your distance for safety or avoid spooking the critters with painted animals! Let’s take a walk on the wild side.
It wouldn’t be wise to pet wild bobcats in real life, but you can gaze upon these adorable painted kittens all day long. We love how they hang out on a wooden post enjoying the simplicity of each others’ company. The brown frame is a smart choice that picks up the kittens’ striped fur.

Did you know that basking in the sun is an important survival activity for turtles? Spotting wild turtles basking in the sun is a fun human activity, too. These local subjects were from the Nags Head Woods. Their realistic green complexion offers a rustic style in their daily life.
From reptiles to waterfowl, the coastal wetlands of the Outer Banks are brimming with life. This bird in particular has discovered a good fishing spot at what seems to be a soundside tide pool. Its pose presents a regal vibe from its beak down to the serene water ripples from its feet.
“Howdy pardner, the name’s Buck!” That seems to be what this gangly horse would say looking right at you. His hilarious short dark mane looks like a human haircut, and his friendly eyes offer a sense of respite and acceptance. Soft colored lines further highlight the gentle equine salutations in this fun lighthearted piece.
Oh, how we long for the balmy spring days to arrive. The weather might be out of our control but at least this graceful blue bird painted with stunning accuracy helps us hope for warm outdoor strolls and sunny beach days ahead. His vibrant blue and orange toned feathers beautifully pair with the rugged tree branch as he rests on it with a watchful eye toward the viewer.

Maybe you’ve seen a miniature painting before, but have you witnessed a tiny sculpture or mini with three-dimensional details so small, you would find them with a magnifying glass?
