Maybe you’ve seen a miniature painting before, but have you witnessed a tiny sculpture or mini with three-dimensional details so small, you would find them with a magnifying glass? Open your eyes to a new perspective at Seaside Art Gallery’s 35th International Miniature Art Show. Here’s some of the art in the show below.
Sunrise Marsh by Patricia McCandless, Mixed Media Paper Collage
Who would have thought that a majestic sunrise could burst forth through tiny bits of paper? It even realistically peeks out over the purple horizon beyond and casts its fiery reflection over the lush marsh below. The golden frame further illuminates the sun’s warmth in this remarkable work of art.
Lake Dance (Grebes) by Paul Eaton, Sterling and Bronze Sculpture
This fascinating sculpture features the remarkable courtship behavior of grebes in the wild. They perform a highly disciplined synchronized water dance, then they mate for life. The sterling silver for the water beneath their feet is a thoughtful choice. About one third of grebes species in the world are at least under threatened status, and possibly endangered.
No Worries by Chris Irwin, Acrylic Paint Pieces
It’s always exciting to discover three dimensional texture in a tiny framed painting. Bright, happy greens and sunny yellows elevate the coastal mood in this simple but delightful painting of flip flops. The rough texture captures the imagination with the feel of warm sand beneath your toes.
Ruby-Throated Visitor by Melinda Fabian, Watercolor and Gouache Paper Sculpture

What stunning three dimensional textures! This lovely warm-toned paper sculpture strikes a great balance with the green toned leaves and hummingbird. Its confident frame is sturdy, making it a great statement piece to display on your desk or collectible shelf.
Count it All Joy by Cathy Kuzma, Bronze Sculpture
Grace and power flow through this metallic masterpiece that exudes strength and delicacy at the same time. It’s warm patina helps make it feel alive. The artist expertly details the horse’s muscles as it gets ready to leap into the air in a great big jump for joy!
