Nothing rewards you for enduring a sweltering hot summer quite like the crisp celebration of October. Filled with bountiful harvests, cooler evenings, bonfires, colorful landscapes and inspiration, this fun filled month is a creative festival for the senses. Seaside Art Gallery kicks off the celebration with five colorful paintings from artist Debra Kierce. Check them out below!
Golden fields are a classic example of rich fall colors. Believe it or not, this scene was inspired from one of the local farms in North Carolina on the way to the Outer Banks! Just looking at these warm yellow and green hues will make you want to don your flannel and relax with a mug of fresh hot cider as you enjoy taking in the landscape.
The coppery shimmer of pennies in a glass jar are a great complement to the smooth ripe plums in this graceful still life. Its warm tones are brimming with the essence of October. Combine that to the awesome reflection showcased in a glass of water, and you have a truly unique piece that’s a great conversation starter for your guests in any event you’re hosting.

Fall is for first class travel! This lovely painting featuring famous Venice sights celebrates the thrills of globe trotting. Fall is a popular time for outdoor adventures. We love the twilight glow of the historic city as it reflects over the canal waters in serene blue hues. The maritime inspired frame is the perfect crowning touch.
This fun tribute to the Impressionist painter Paul Cezanne’s work The Basket of Apples has a delightful modern twist. Debra pays homage to the “lived in” look with the folded cloth and the apples on the table that seem to spill over from the basket. Little Debbie desserts stacked with graham crackers provide a more modern vibe with a clever nod to the artist’s namesake and nostalgic childhood.
What better way to end an October day than to cozy up inside by candlelight? Debra captures the glow of a lighted candle with remarkable realism as it shines against the glass balls in its sparkling dance. The fibrous textures of the wooden crate and rattan ball add a pleasant depth of comfort.
